Eric Archer provides schematics and a how-to for building your own TR-808 clone! He's put his efforts into a 'Big box o Techno' and the results are pretty impressive...now where did I put that soldering iron?
There are some other interesting sounding devices on his page too...busy man.

just get an A-105 SSM low pass filter set it just before self oscillation then put a little envelop click into the Cv input to trigger it..Booom!! or buy a real machine but fuck that cost more than jesus!!!

well not quite but jesus it makes killer kick drums it self oscillates like a dead dog on the side of the road....
